This trek is a mix of moderate and strenuous walks, some 6 to 8 hours a day. The trek starts from Simikot towards the Karnali river bank through Thakuri Hindu villages, and Humla Tibetan settlements. Traditional village settings, rural lifestyle of people, local farmers working on indigenous crop fields and the Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, shrines are some of the features of the trail that finally leads to the majestic view of the Saipal Himal (7035m) that resembles a sleeping golden ox. The beautiful valley around the mountain carries rich varieties of flora and fauna which adds to the beauty of the region. In order to enjoy this trek you need to be in good physical condition and exercise regularly. |
